The Crop Top style has been welcomed with open arms to Spring/Summer 2013! It seems like a few trends have continued on into the new year; which is nice considering us fashionistas spend a great deal of money on quality statement pieces. This Spring/Summer we will see the crop top; however, it will remain fresh and not over-saturated because there is such versatility to this look…

Old is New again.

Pier 94, NYC will be hosting an Antique Trade Show & Fashion Alley presented by Stella Shows. As I mentioned in the past, I have been collecting vintage clothing, accessories, and footwear; however, this ‘hobby’ has slowly become an obsession of mine.

That being said, everyone who appreciates vintage fashion as much as me should not miss this weekend at the Pier. It’s beyond inspirational to see a group of 500 diverse vendors in one huge space. I feel so lucky to be apart of this. My booth number is 2176 located in the Fashion Alley. Come check it out!

Sensation: Innerspace USA

Sensation Innerspace launches an All-White Tech-House Party at Barclays Center

This weekend, amidst the Halloween parties and ‘Sandy’ chaos, the European music festival, Sensation made it’s U.S. debut in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.

Thousands of people filled Brooklyn streets in white, Including myself. Fuck the Halloween Costumes, it was all about representing white – the audience became one in this spiritual experience. The night took you on a journey throughout the seven stages of enlightenment, enabling you to concentrate on the present releasing all your worries through hard techno beats. My favorite by far was Fedde, although 2000 and One and Mark Knight Killed it with their versatile performance.

The line up Saturday night:

Mr. White, Danny Tenaglia, 2000 and One Fedde le Grand, & Mark Knight

Not only was the venue perfect, but the overall prodcution was beyond flawless.  The lineup was an inspirational/talented group of DJ’s that honestly took the crowd to heaven. At one point I turned to my friend and told her that I have died and gone to heaven.

Fireworks, rain, endless fog, lasers upon lasers, and my favorite part, massive glow balls that constantly dropped to the audience at different levels spinning higher into the ceiling each time filling the Barclays Center. Overall, it was the best show I have ever experienced. Rumor has it that Sensation may appear in LA of next year. Stay tuned folks.

Old Soul Vintage

After a day of shopping my mom always wants to see what I have purchased. She always looks at me like I have five heads after I reveal my treasures. Why? Because I am always coming home with inexpensive vintage. She always shakes her head in amazement and whispers, “you have such an old soul.” Hence, ‘Old Soul Vintage’ is a recent project I have become so passionate about.

I am starting my own vintage business literally as I type to you all! I have been collecting for quite sometime and invest at least three days a week of vintage shopping. As many of you already know, Pier 94 hosts one of the biggest antique & Fashion Alley trade shows twice a year. Well, I recently got approved to sell my goods there!

Valentino: Master of Couture

Get ready London…

The master couturier, Valentino along with the rest of the fashion world will be celebrating 50 big years of awe-inspring designs. This November London will be blessed with a transformed 60-metre runway located in Embankment Galleries at Somerset House. This major new exhibition celebrating the life and work of Valentino will showcase over 130 exquisite haute couture designs worn by icons such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren and Gwyneth Paltrow in an exciting installation created specially for Somerset House.

Viewers will literally be taken on a journey through Valentino’s glamourous and iconic wardrobes that have been seen on the most respected women of all time. I mean people are still talking about Julia Robert’s infamous vintage gown that she wore to accept her Oscar in 2001… that shits crazy. The house of Valentino will always and forever be in my heart, along with many others. So if you just so happen to be in the area you better attend this once in a lifetime experience!

Valentino: Master of Couture opens at Somerset House on 29th November and runs until 3rd March 2012.

Alexander McQueen BUZZZZZ Feed

Alexander McQueen’s, Sarah Burton was inspired by bees. Yes, bees.  Burton shares minutes before her show, “A matriarchal society where the females rule.” And because the artful shape they’ve given to nature, the honeycomb, had given her endless possibilities, as she portrayed the ‘heritage silhouette.’

The models buzzed down the runway in form-fitting pieces with the touch of Vargas pinups…the ‘un-traditonal’ pin-up, that is. Burton created honeycomb shape into jacquards, nets, and laces. Essentially, bees were embroidered into her work.  Wasp-waist jackets, reed-thin skirts and pants along with boots made from crystal-studded stretch of netting that stood tall and tight on the models. Hips were a key feature due to the  structural jackets. As the collection buzzed by, I’m convinced that Burton poured some Miracle Grow on her evening wear, due to the endless flowers that covered the models. Overall, Mcqueen is always presenting the unthinkable.

Anne Hathaway x Valentino

Anne Hathaway & Adam Shulman lock lips for the camera at a private estate on Saturday, September 29th. Anne wore a custom, breathtaking Valentino gown that was as romantic as a wedding dress can get. The gown featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, delicate lace and a crowning veil that draped down the floor-length hemline of the gown. She looked like an old-school elegant goddess. Well done, Anne.
